Definitely The Spires (Flame Peak on left I think?);
so maybe from on the way to / from Innes High Rocky?
(looks like pleasant walking, looking forward to this trip

)

that is correct! The flame is a pretty big clue. Yeah it's not too bad heading out to Innes High Rocky, mostly buttongrass. No pad until you get to the peak.
Your turn Stu

Thanks for the inspiration Amanda
This one should be pretty easy for those that have been here...
Mon 19 Oct, 2009 10:58 am
Very nice photo stu
Almost impossible if you haven't been there
Mon 19 Oct, 2009 12:02 pm
Yeah, sorry eggs
I usually put up pics from summits or of mountains.
I thought I'd go with something a little harder this time as there have been some similarly obscure entries.
This lake has appeared at least once in the game before...
Mon 19 Oct, 2009 12:45 pm
Oh well - better start the ball rolling
[I don't mind the harder / less detailed ones - after all, the game was setup to ask "how well do you know Tas?" So most should require some first hand info]
Chalice Lake?
Mon 19 Oct, 2009 1:09 pm
Very good guess eggs!!!
Chalice Lake it is.
This is taken from the track (pad) just as it reaches the lake, a truly beautiful area & a must do side trip for those doing any walking in the area.
There is a track that comes up on the southern side of Grail Falls (from Chapter Lake) & follows the outlet stream to the lake.
From here pads lead up to the western rim where you can access the many peaks (Cathedral Mtn, Twin Spires etc.).
Over to you eggs...

You're joking...
I was going to start with the walls area, but the Pines which made me think of the WOJ area, reminded me that there are some behind Cathedral as well.
I have some photos down onto Chalice - and I knew the lie of the land would not offer any dramatic backdrop but would be capable of some rocky outcrops.
But I had not expected to get it!
Someone else will need to post the next one.

I'll jump in; not the best photo.........shouldn't be too hard to figure out though!

Anyone want to have a crack?
I'll be off in about 20 minutes..........
Mon 19 Oct, 2009 3:34 pm
Definitely up north a ways.
Maybe from Ben Nevis somewhere (a stab in the dark without checking any maps).
Mon 19 Oct, 2009 3:40 pm
No, not Ben Nevis.......but yes, definitely up north
Mon 19 Oct, 2009 3:42 pm
OK, another wild guess - Maurice?
Mon 19 Oct, 2009 3:43 pm
No, not Maurice (but you've been VERY close!)
Mon 19 Oct, 2009 3:45 pm
I'm about to go too;
maybe my deductions will help someone else guess
Mon 19 Oct, 2009 3:47 pm
I'm off now, I've asked ILUVSWTAS to act as my proxy.......have a lovely evening everyone!
Mon 19 Oct, 2009 3:51 pm
Come on Stu

throw one more guess in before you take off........
Mon 19 Oct, 2009 6:34 pm
Mt Scott?
ff
Mon 19 Oct, 2009 6:36 pm
Not Scott FF!
All the above Mts (Scott, Maurice and Ben Nevis) can probably be seen in this shot.
Mon 19 Oct, 2009 6:57 pm
Cuckoo hill ?

Mon 19 Oct, 2009 7:01 pm
Not Cuckoo..
Mon 19 Oct, 2009 7:48 pm

Mon 19 Oct, 2009 7:56 pm
Indeed it could and was!
Mon 19 Oct, 2009 9:14 pm
Since I don't know how to post a photo ...yet ! Someone else can take my turn. Cheers V.
Mon 19 Oct, 2009 9:47 pm
Fly fisher or Stu did all the hard work, One of you guys go!!
Tue 20 Oct, 2009 7:15 am
Thanks for your help with that ILUVSWTAS, yes, the pic was looknig east from Mount Barrow when I took the kids up there a couple of weeks ago.
Tue 20 Oct, 2009 7:22 am
Pleasure Phil! Looking forward to getting up there myself!
Tue 20 Oct, 2009 7:56 am
I was up there last Sat so was fresh in my mind. I think the mountains from left to right are: Mt Victoria, Mt Albert, Mt Young (not an Abel) Mt Saddleback, Ben Nevis, East and West Tower near Matthina and Ben Lomond Plateau. Last Sat there was still a tiny bit of snow to be seen on Ben Lomond.
Tue 20 Oct, 2009 8:01 am
A hardy group of adventurers climbed West Tower a few weekends ago (along with Byatts Razorback, Ragged Jack, Mt's Elephant and St Patricks Head) unfortunately no feral goats were sighted......
Tue 20 Oct, 2009 9:22 am
Ok, don't deserve it as I've climbed nearly all those mountains (still to do Scott) & should have been able to work it out.
Here's a new one anyway to keep it rolling along...
