Satvik Foods Packets

Mon 28 Nov, 2016 7:22 am

Hi all,

I was in Bangalow on the weekend and found "Satvik Foods" packet curries.

I tried the Quinoa Curry which was quite good.

According to their website they're 3 Veg women from Mt Warning. They're reasonably priced and appear to have free postage Aus wide.

I'm not associate with them at all - just passing on some yummy food!

It looks as though you have to cook from scratch though - saute spices etc in oil for 1 minute, add water and bring to boil, simmer till tender. Might taste great but requires more fuel. Minor issue for an over-nighter perhaps.

Yep for longer walks its an issue. But I'm planning on taking some with me and the family when we do the Routeburn track in March.

Surely a pot cosy would overcome that issue?

Not all of the ingredients would cook by the absorption method of a pot cosy. Quinoa takes a while to get to the edible stage in simmering water and there is no suggestion that these products are dehydrated pre-cooked components.

I could be wrong though!
