Scoparia flowering Jan 2017

Tue 10 Jan, 2017 10:41 am

Hi all, I meant to post about the exceptional season we are having right now. Lower down the display is almost past it's peak. Up high it's the best, by far, that I've seen since I started walking in Tas a decade ago.

Get on it ASAP! So exceedingly beautiful....here's some pics facebook users can check out...

So it wasn't just me thinking that. Ben Lomond has been stunning, and the 'head' of Western Bluff.

Central Plateau has been incredible. Plenty of other things flowering too, but the scoparia is the star of the show.

Just went up Higgs track. Scoparia very good including some pink, though some a bit past it's best.
The Bellandena montana (rockets) are magnificent and will be well worth re-visiting in March for the colour.

I've been impressed even by the new growth colours on everything, and the change this makes to the colours of the landscape. Your photos have convinced me to head to Lake St Clair for a day trip this weekend Dan. :)
