TIP: The online
Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

When it first was announced , about a year ago, I mentioned that I never seen a portable water harvesting unit that is efficient.
In other words the weight and or time it takes to fill up is more than just carrying extra water or getting to the nearest source.
Might work on a bike but I doubt very much it will work on foot.
I had another look and found this :

You could take along a 250wh battery (

)
I wonder if they are shipping yet (other than themselves into hiding), took a lot of money for it.

So hiking on a 30C day at ~65% humidity I'd only get a little over a cup (250ml) of water per hour? That's not going to keep me even remotely quenched!
How much does this 800ml system weigh? My 1.25litre bottle weighs only 36grams. Will it work well on a hot cloudy day? Will it work on a cloudy, gloomy winter's day or will I need to take a big heavy battery?

Sorry - just read Franco's ^metabunk^ link above after posting my thing. I thought it was too good to be true!

Stew ,
I became a skeptic aged 6 or so when I discovered that father Christmas does not exist.
So I tend to ask myself a lot of questions when reading claims like the ones from Fontus.
(unrelated, my wife made me a really nice stew tonight...)
