TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

required: boot repairer (cobbler) Tasmania or beyond

Hi everyone,
So...
The vibram sole from my zamberlan boots are falling apart. My boots are fine and lots of years left in them but the vibram soles needs replacing.
Can anyone recommend someone (preferably in Tasmania) who replaces vibram soles on hiking boots?
Thanks heaps!

Ben

You could try Anthony's shoe repair in Albury,

he has resoled my RMs and dress shoes and I suspect that resoling walking boots would not be beyond him.

?DIY - soles and appropriate contact adhesive and other shoe making supplies , amongst other stuff, from Leffler Leather in Kensington, Melbourne. Recently resoled (as in glued Topy over previous leather sole) some street shoes with Topy rubber for $4.00, plus tin of contact adhesive - usually $60-80 at shoe shop...

DiY may be the go (here too).

Mr Fixit (in D'port) sorted out a new sole for a mate's boots. Though it was many years ago (not sure of the current owner or capabilities), and I recall he mentioned it wasn't cheap. Those particular Zamberlans can be had for little over half the price we initially paid (if the $ are a major concern)

There's also a repairer in Ulverstone.

There's a bloke in Moonah
Here's a recent ABC story on him, sounds promising

Yes, I'd be interested to know if he can do Vibram resoling. I have a pair of Asolos with almost pristine leather and detaching soles.
