Hi all,
I'm interested to hear about hikes in Australia with regular access to accommodation (hotel, B&B etc).
I'm considering this as a way to introduce my young family to long(er) distance travel by foot.
The Great North Walk comes to mind, I'd be interested to hear peoples experience hiking hotel to hotel.
Happy to be directed to another forum topic if this has been covered.
Thanks in advance.

Cape to Cape Walk in Western Australia ?
Some rail trails may also be suitable, and are usually of an easier gradient.
Parts of the Great Ocean Walk and Great Dividing Trail / Goldfields Track are easily tied in with accommodation arrangements.

Seems some guided businesses have their own huts/camps on the OLT but you pay for the convenience.

Beverelli - that is where walking in Europe really excels.

You could put together an itinerary in the upper Blue Mountains, with accommodation in Wentworth Falls, Leura, Katoomba, Blackheath and Mt Victoria, and a day-walk in between each town.
You can do the Six Foot Track commercially, with accommodation in an "eco lodge" near the Coxs River. You could extend the trip with accommodation in Katoomba and/or Jenolan Caves.
Victoria's Great Ocean Walk has B&B accommodation in nearby towns just off the walk.

I'd be interested in the names of day walks between each of these towns, if that's easy/possible? I'm not very familiar with the Blue Mountains (yet!).
Thanks,

Hi, have a look at
http://www.wildwalks.com/ This will give you a good look at the walks in the area and you should be able to put together something to suit.

There are multiple ways to get between these towns, there's not really one named, designated route.
Just get yourself one of the many books on Blue Mountains bushwalking (such as
this one), and go for it. The Blue Mountains villages are linked by frequent train services, so there is plenty of flexibility if you need to change your plans during the day.
