Waterproof stuff sacks needed

I'm going on a walk that could well be very wet, and have decided to replace a few items. I'm up to stuff sacks. There's a variety of items on offer, different sizes, colours and weights. Osprey and Sea to Summit have good ranges. I gather that some products are not as good as others, with waterproofing delaminating or wearing out faster than anticipated. It may be a balance between weight, durability and price.

Does anyone have recommendations about what to buy and what not to buy?

Also, is it advisable to have plastic bags inside the waterproof bag?

Drybags are waterproof so no plastic bag needed. I like Exped.

If you are worried about delamination then get silnylon ones.

I bought some Exped Ultralite drybags 5 years ago and they're delaminating. I guess they've seen quite a bit of use over that time. I have an older Exped drybag in heavier material that's still going strong.

I have a Sea to Summit Ultrasil one too (their lighter weight version) which seems a bit more durable than the Expeds and has been good (although hasn't seen as much use so far).

Can't comment on durability/longevity yet, but I recently used some of the S2S lightweight waterproof sacks and they did a great job of keeping my gear dry.

I had two river crossings where I was completely submerged (had to swim) and to top it off it rained the whole time I was out, so my pack was drenched. Everything in the sack stayed dry. Unlike me and my pack.

I have a couple of the S2S Ultrasils that I have absolutely put through hell bikepacking and hiking. I use one as a handlebar bag, strapped to the bars with loops of old inner tube. The other is often overstuffed with my sleeping bag. Both are holding up well.

You have to be prepared to wait 4-6 weeks to get them.
