Collins Bonnet from .... (somewhere) oh... say east west trail? Went walking myself today. Got very wet for no reward (view) on Mt Raoul.
Sat 28 Nov, 2009 7:50 pm
Nice! We didnt get views either! Got lots of rain and some thunder/lightning, but we got to our summit!
Nope not the head gear of Collin

Sat 28 Nov, 2009 8:01 pm
Indeed you will!
But not on this occasion.... keep em coming
Sat 28 Nov, 2009 8:03 pm
Okay, Patrick
Sat 28 Nov, 2009 8:06 pm

Have you not been on many walks up on Wellington??
Sat 28 Nov, 2009 8:07 pm
Second last (and getting desperate) Marian?
Sat 28 Nov, 2009 8:08 pm
Yeeee Thats the one! A very nice walk and quite a nice summit! And it's an Abel
Sat 28 Nov, 2009 8:16 pm
So from where do you get that view of Mt Marian from the Mtn River end? and where does the Mtn River end start? Here is the next easy one from an often visited peak in this forum.
Sat 28 Nov, 2009 8:19 pm
It starts at Mtn River (funnily enough) and pops up between Collins Bonnet and Trestle Mtn. You go left towards Trestle along the East-West trail for around 30-45mins and the pic is taken from there!! Trestle is accessed from just near where the Mountain river track ends and a bit further along the Mt Marian track starts!

U on Mt Rufus?
Sat 28 Nov, 2009 9:06 pm
Very freakin' cold. Off to bed so nighty, night kiddies.
Sat 28 Nov, 2009 9:07 pm
Is off to bed a yes or no??
Sat 28 Nov, 2009 9:14 pm
I guess the answer to this question and more will be answered tomorrow

Im going to bed too.....
Sun 29 Nov, 2009 7:55 am
Sorry, ILUVSWTAS, my answer to you was obviously too obscure. I meant your guess was cold, so that is a "no". Not Rufus, nor anywhere near it.
Sun 29 Nov, 2009 8:00 am
Ah yes, im a simple person only understanding black and white sorry

looked a bit like gell.
Hmmm ok time to look again
Mon 30 Nov, 2009 8:27 pm
What has happened to the game? No takers for this very easy photo. It has been over 36 hours with no guesses. If you are all waiting for clues think central / Mersey region.

What has happened?? Eggs is away and I have no idea on this one...
Errr ok is it Western Bluff from Mackenzie??
Mon 30 Nov, 2009 8:34 pm
I think it is Ossa from somewhere on the Cathedral Plateau
Mon 30 Nov, 2009 8:58 pm
ILUVSWTAS - you are right. Sorry, but you have no idea about this one. But I did have the same thought - where is Eggs? Norts is pretty close but no cigar. It is Ossa but not from Cathedral. May even be looking over Cathedral.
Mon 30 Nov, 2009 8:59 pm
Yeah maybe Ossa looking over tent tarn.
ff
Mon 30 Nov, 2009 9:00 pm
Well that looks like Lake Chalice so I would have said Rogoona.

Thank you Tasadam. Where have you been for the last day and a half. Your go. By the way, does anyone know what caused the connection problems yesterday (Sunday), not to mention the auto logon feature becoming disabled for no apparent reason?

I'e been rather busy sorting stuff out after the walk. More to follow.
No idea on the connection problems.
Bauera is an interesting name. Did you know it can grow to over 4 metres? I found a couple of living examples of that.
OK Off to find an image... Back soon.
Mon 30 Nov, 2009 9:59 pm
OK Here ya go.

- Where am I here?
Linked to larger version so detail can be studied.

Looks south westish. South West Cape Range looking north? Bauera may grow to 4 metres but my growth has been stunted much short of that. I believe it may be described as wiry, tough and nasty.
Mon 30 Nov, 2009 10:16 pm
Looking whEre?
Mon 30 Nov, 2009 10:21 pm
From memory, looking north you would be looking along the range, like this

But I could be wrong.
In any case, yes it is on the SW Cape range.
So your go again...

Well obviously I have my directions wrong. The features don't mean much to me, not that they are really clear features. That button grass slope really reminds me of SWC Range, maybe Mt Karamu, maybe Pascoe Range, but all in the same area. Given the amount of scrub in the gully it must be fairly sheltered so on the eastern or north-eastern side. So, could be looking south or south-east. But to be honest I have no idea. Probably time for bed anyway, so I will leave it to clearer heads to work out.
Some memory you have, tasadam. Could be described as "photographic'. Well now you have conspired to keep me out of bed a bit longer here is another photo.

I think you must have missed my comment under the north photo, I've already awarded it to you, as you are right in that I am on the SW Cape Range. I was actually looking roughly east in that image.
Your go again.
