We've done the hard yards now, and I'm heartily sick of it.

It may be time to put my foot down and stop this. In any case we are running out of linear measurements.

Don''t be such a square. There are acres of other possibilities.

Seconded.

It all depends how much latitude the mods give us.

Careful mods. Give them 3 barleycorns and they'll take 1,000 paces.
We have lost a lot of mental gymnastics when 'we' went metric.

I've got the bush sixth sense, my mum is back on third, in town!

The seventh will come with time :)

I am not giving any latitude. I'm selling longitude; Matt pays me what I'm worth and I need more income. Imperial measurements are gone - there was yard sale. The yard was about 6 moots by 12 cubits. I rate some of these posts as better than three Fonzies, but some stink, maybe 8 hobos. I hope that everyone has got a Warhol.

I like this chain of posts.

Went for a couple of day hikes recently at Wilson's Prom.
Took my usual rain coat, small amount of food, PLB, GPS, map and water.
Was amazed by the number of people I met that had nothing - maybe a bottle of water but nothing else.

Admittedly the Prom is pretty populated so if something went wrong you'd only be there for an hour or two before someone came along, but still.

Maybe I should adopt the "I don't need to be prepared because someone else will be" approach.
And while I'm at it I'll stop vaccinating the kids and picking up rubbish on my nature strip!

I'm going to step in here but I know I'll need to pace myself. How the hectare do you begin to judge the quality of such execrable puns except for the mileage of the replies

Depends which scale you use. Pound for pound, I think we've given good value. I, at least, have left no stone unturned.
