TIP: The online
Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Great list with some excellent Aussie gear makers. Thanks Nuts.

Yeah, I agree.
There's wallets not bullets but it's as much environmental. sending wool overseas, just to be washed, is ridiculous. Still a long way to go!
Couple that come to mind just now:
Tasgear Gaiters- tough, as good as any?
Yowie Snowshoes - these are tough and lightweight, good enough for our mixed boot/snowshoe conditions.
Kingwood Skis - I know nothing about these but haven't found another ANZAC maker?

Nice work Nuts. Ta.
Like the non-mulesed wool option.
Really surprised to find Redback are made here.
My Rossi Mulgas weigh a fair bit and are for pretty much casual wear, but on the second sole now and they look as good as (near

) new.

Tasgear gaiters are better than anything else I can find on the market.

Good work Paul.
NZ rope & cord
https://www.donaghys.com.au/safety-and- ... rbor-ropes I guess NZ is good?, this is a long established business, some foods are diverted through NZ for lesser standards?
It feels all this should be made simple, and available on an app,by a government. Not just makers identified, but those involved in the process, especially the dirty bits.

Thanks Nuts. I have written a NZ version of the article too which can be found below.

Saw that ABC article the other day. It's something that's been at the fore for me, in creating Ottie Merino. Indeed, our wool is grown in Australia (non-mulesed). Our fabric is knitted and dyed here. Our clothing is manufactured here—fabric turned into garments in Melbourne. But, unfortunately, the wool is processed and yarn spun overseas because there is no real choice. If that changes, and it's viable for us to do so, we'll be all over that—having it brought back to Australia.
