Pretty sure I had lunch on some rocks just out of frame to the right.

Descending to Mary Creek Plains, looking at Mt Mary?

Right half of the state but I'm a long way from Mary Creek Plain.
Tracking probably around the same altitude but there's a lot more water close by.

Is that frankland/secheron in centre?

Maybe Sprent from Twelvetrees Range?

Yes correct eggs, an interesting walk that doesn't seem to get a lot of visitation.

Looking at the eastern end of Little Horn, but not sure where from. Maybe somewhere near Artillery Knob?
Sat 09 Apr, 2022 10:36 pm
Close. The spot is named for a series of tarns...

Twisted Ones, perchance?

Yes - we were right next to them for this photo

Thanks, Eggs. That was my next guess. Next one:

Looks like Eldon Bluff and Crag from roughly northish. Inglis, maybe.

Yes and yes, and very roughly north-ish-ish, as opposed to south-ish-ish. Not Inglis.

Nereus?
Sun 10 Apr, 2022 7:10 pm
Disaster pimple is almost hidden by the Crag, which makes me think maybe more NW. Murchison?

Bingo. What's disaster pimple?

The little lump on the ridge leading out to Eldon Bluff, which is where I stuffed the knee. And thanks.

Ah. That explains why I don't remember it and you do.

But c'mon! I give you plenty to work with, and look what you give me back!

I'm looking at an Abel, or at least part of one. From somewhere that is very much not mountainous.
Mon 11 Apr, 2022 1:17 pm
You're probably on a plain. Maybe this winter I can learn some Tasmanian geology. I only remember bits and pieces.
Mon 11 Apr, 2022 1:18 pm
Probably not west coast. Or east coast.
Mon 11 Apr, 2022 2:18 pm
Definitely not at all coastal. But not a plain either. I think this is a view you would get doing the book route to the Abel in question. I think ... because it's not the way I did it.
Mon 11 Apr, 2022 3:31 pm
It's dolerite, so that eliminates a few. Are you looking at Parson and Clark?
Mon 11 Apr, 2022 4:42 pm
Mt Tor?
Mon 11 Apr, 2022 4:45 pm
Neither, and both of those are a long way off.
Tue 12 Apr, 2022 12:58 pm
The Abel is named after a walker.
