Only if you were there.

Wilkes is much closer, but no
There is a named peak in view
Wed 01 Jun, 2022 7:37 pm
Okay, is it Hansons Lake with Hansons Peak behind?
Wed 01 Jun, 2022 8:05 pm
Close enough. This is an unnamed pool, but it is on the track past Lake Hanson and that is indeed Hanson's Peak above.

Thanks Eggs. It was covered in snow last time I walked through there.
Where is this crowded campsite?

That's it.

Thanks. I've never had to use that. Whenever I've been there it's always just been me and maybe one other tent at most.

I’m guessing that’s a mountain bike track. I’m guessing that’s a lighthouse in the distance. I’m guessing it’s Eddystone Point. So maybe you were at Weldborough, maybe?

looks more like coming into queenstown to me.

Thank you and good night. Take it away, Last.
(Technically, it was on the Horsetail Falls track, but Q'town is good enough)

Thanks NNW, I was thinking it was from the road coming down the bends. Next

We arrived here cold and wet some hours after after a boat ride.
Mon 06 Jun, 2022 10:12 am
Arggh, that's Byron in the cloud, isn't it? Are you on Ida?
Mon 06 Jun, 2022 10:34 am
Tis Byron - not on Ida.
Mon 06 Jun, 2022 1:06 pm
Near Lake Sappho?
Mon 06 Jun, 2022 1:22 pm
On Olympus?
Mon 06 Jun, 2022 2:47 pm
Getting the directions wrong folks.
Consider what is just behind Byron on the left.
Olympus is not in view
Mon 06 Jun, 2022 3:38 pm
That could be Gould in left foreground which might put you on The Minotaur or the saddle between Gould and Minotaur.
Mon 06 Jun, 2022 5:24 pm
That is Gould [with Hugel in the distance]
And we were hunkering down on the back of the Minotaur that night.
Mon 06 Jun, 2022 7:21 pm
I’ve camped there in atrociously wet conditions and also in a heat wave. It’s a pretty good spot to get away from the crowds though.
Where is this?

Somewhere on the north coast. The name of the National park will do.
