Leeches.

Does anyone know for certain whether leeches can 'climb' along/move along/move upwards specifically on-Silpoly and/or Silnylon?
Anyone seen it for example?

I have seen them on the outside of my silnylon tent so they must be able to climb it.

Is there anything they can't climb?

They love trying to find a way into tents. All over both sides of the fly and any solid parts of the inner. Not so good on mesh but they still get around.

The only thing I've found that defeats them is fraying Tyvek. They try to crawl along my old raggedy groundsheet, and get all mucked up by the loose fibres. I'm sadistic enough (about leeches) to rather enjoy seeing them there when packing up.

One of the joys of sleeping in a hammock is sitting sideways in it, de-leeching your legs then swinging your legs in and sleeping soundly knowing they can’t get to you during the night.

Thanks Lindsay.

Change of tack.
Narrowing it down specifically to Silpoly fabric only. Can they move along silpoly?

Smooth surfaces don't stop them.

Not if you set fire to it. I hate leeches and will resort to warfare.
