Yeah mate that’s what I heard but having never been in the area before wasn’t sure if it’s THIS weekend or after it?
And if it is locked would you know how far it is from the round mountain track. The map I have doesn’t show a gate of any kind at all?

Got on to them and it’s all good. Gates get locked at the end of the long weekend….it’s GO time.

Excellent, weather on the improve for the weekend but it will be cold. Some solid rain going through just now but it seems Vic got the brunt. More on the way today so it could cause some issues. The rain may turn to snow in places on Friday but it should not be much. Enjoy.

Hope you had some more luck than I did back in 2016, when it was most certainly locked by 5pm on the Friday of the June long weekend. I had to quickly pivot to a a different hike!
Before anyone asks, there was no snow on the ground.
Better luck for me though than a weekend in May 2014, when I drove from Khancoban to Cabramurra (through 15-20cm of very fresh and falling snow), only to find myself lock inside the gate! Thankfully I was able to walk into Cabramurra late at night and find someone with a key to let me out!
