PW is correct. NNW was on to it but hadn't actually named it so it's yours.

I wasn't sure if that one would be too boring or not. Here's another one I took on the way down:

I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve seen this view. Looking at Shipstern Bluff from the lookout before the descent, or it could be from Raoul Lookout.

Yes - from Cape Raoul Lookout

Thanks. I was down that way today.
Where was this taken from?

I think you're on one of the high points between Mensa Moor and Stacks. Heimdall Crag?

How about Asgard?
Sun 13 Aug, 2023 3:09 pm
Anyone know who named Heimdall and Asgard? Or did any of the first ascents around Stacks?

Abels book should mention the first ascents. Here we go:
"John Wedge refers to his climbing of the "Stacks" in 1833, in reference to the columns at the end of the bluff. It was almost certainly first climbed by John Batman circa 1826."There's an old track that goes up beside Bent Bluff - actually between Bent and Pavement - that dates back a fair while. Like, early last century, I think. Would most likely have been the first major post-colonial access to the southern plateau.
There's a way of digging out nomenclature info on ListMap but I can never remember how it works; always just stumbled on it by chance and promptly forgotten the method.

Thanks nnw - found a few things by searching about. Was looking for some stuff about the late Bob McMahon, and found Mike Douglas and Chris Viney with whom I have some connection.

Thanks NNW. I'd be interested in the results of your research Rexyviney. Next
