Looks like some sort of old road you're on?
Not me, walking companion searching for something in their pack. Out of the shelter it was difficult to stand. It's not a road but probably generations of bushwalkers have sought shelter here.

I feel a bit bad for jumping in, but is it just below the top of Maxwell Ridge? On the Ooze Lake side.

I remember trying to shelter there in very similar weather, but wind was blowing rain underneath the overhang.

Well, Bonds Craig, Reeds Peak and Great Dome from that side and that angle suggests somewhere in the Mt Field NP. Not Lord or Lanes - vegetation is wrong. Maybe from near The Watcher?
