Good enough Tyreless. Definitely Phillip and Norfolk islands. I'm actually on Mt Pitt but had just walked across from Mt Bates after being on it for the second time that day. All yours.

“Good enough” is one of my favourite phrases.

Redledge Pass?

Re: Game: Where-is-it (Aussie)

Not Redledge Pass. I'll be happy with the nearest suburb as this ledge is off track and not visited regularly.

Close. You need to view the very well known distant feature from a different angle.

Copeland?

Closer still - Copeland is just visible at RHS.
This Pass is v. rarely visited, although it's v. accessible.

I think there's something called The Goat Track that crosses Kedumba Pass?

Not Goat Track. Copeland was closer.

Not Gladstone is it? I thought it was still fairly popular. Only tried going down once and it was so slippery we retreated.

Closer again.
You have half of the name correct. This Pass was named after 1900's GG, and is sandwiched between popular tourist Tracks.

Really clutching at straws now. I can't find any early 1900s GGs with partially matching names. So I'll throw out Northcote as a total guess.

From the clues, Stonehaven Pass.

You will probably be correct. I was assuming the actual person's name . Never heard of it regardless.
Further research suggests that the photo could be from Wilsons Lookout. Can't recall anything about the track in my Jim Smith books though.

Well done. An image search finds v. similar photos. Stonehaven Pass is well worth a 30 minute side trip.

Reminds me of the crossing over Govetts Creek at BGF, but the background doesn't look right.

Well it's the right national park, but you are a bit too far south east.

Is it somewhere on the Grose, or is my thinking too close to my last guess?

The water in the picture is not on the Grose (or a tributory). Although a 8.5 years ago, that water would have been pretty gross.
