Byron?
Yeh I know it's not actually a part of the Franklands, but I wasnt asking for precision as OBVIOUSLY you noticed I wasnt even sure on exactly where I was......
Did you know we managed to bag every peak on our one trip thru the Frankalnds Ivan?? Including Secheron/Terminal..... you've been thru twice now and still left a couple behind didnt you?? did you guys get out to Remote??

Given that ILUV will probably keep plugging away on this one, I will slip in my guess.
Have you been out to Gould's Sugerloaf?
I can see Cuvier in front of Gould and Manfred in front of the Guardians and Ossa in the left distance (plus a few other notables)
Wed 28 Apr, 2010 1:53 pm
Yeh we had an aborted trip to Goulds SL recently, I suspect Ivan is trying to make me

by putting a pic up from here..... On your way out of the Eldons was it SM??
Wed 28 Apr, 2010 2:36 pm
Goulds SL it is - over to you eggs
Now would I do something like that Mark ??? You were almost correct with your guess, Byron is kinda close
yes it was taken on the Eldons traverse many years ago. It was Joseph's (the model) first real tassie trip - somewhat of a baptism of fire. Were still good friends, but he hasn't been walking with me in Tassie since !
I'll get back in my hole now.

Hey - he had some good weather!! What was the problem?
Next one - name of track or the lake in view:
Wed 28 Apr, 2010 4:03 pm
somwhere out behind the walls of Jerusalem?
Wed 28 Apr, 2010 4:08 pm
Technically this is inside the enlarged Walls Of Jerusalem NP, but it is not "behind" the Walls if by that you mean out on the Central Plateau.
This is south west from the core Walls area on a reasonably established track.
Wed 28 Apr, 2010 4:18 pm
was thinking lake ball or lake Fanny
Wed 28 Apr, 2010 4:20 pm
As I said - go south and west. This particular view is facing north.
Wed 28 Apr, 2010 4:35 pm
one last try and im only having a wild stab from the list,
lake poa?
Wed 28 Apr, 2010 4:38 pm
Gosh - a deadly stab.
Yes this is Lake Poa - looking down to it from the track between Lakes Myrtle and Meston (from which you can do a side trip to Rogoona)
Wed 28 Apr, 2010 5:18 pm

Thu 29 Apr, 2010 8:09 am

Has a bit of a Western Arthurs feel to it - but I am fairly certain you are in the north of the state
Thu 29 Apr, 2010 4:03 pm
9 entries yesterday and hardly a stir today?
Anyway - are you looking over Paddy's Lake below Black Bluff?
You can just make out the track on the far slope.
Thu 29 Apr, 2010 5:01 pm
Yeah strange that one.
You are correct eggs.
Thu 29 Apr, 2010 5:04 pm
Well lets rock & roll then
Pretty easy - with a simple "Where's Wally" object
Thu 29 Apr, 2010 5:14 pm
Hansons Peak, with the wheres wally being the Dove Lake Boat Shed?
Thu 29 Apr, 2010 5:33 pm
Close enough.
The boat shed is right - with Lake Lilla and Honslow Heath behind, but I was on the track to Hanson's Peak just where it joins the ridgeline.
Thu 29 Apr, 2010 6:14 pm
Thanks,
I'll need the exact location for this one.

I think that is Mt Field West in the LHS distance and Mt Picton in the RHS distance - which means it is a fairly wide angle view.

Looking at Sentinel Range from the Coronets?
Fri 30 Apr, 2010 9:33 am
I rekon you're pretty close Dan, definitely the right area.
I think you are looking along the Sentinel Range from the Sentinel Range tho, on your return from the Coronets?
Fri 30 Apr, 2010 10:03 am
Curious - I thought I had just about sussed this one and then stu backs up the Sentinels.
I would have thought from there you would see Anne or Schnells ridge in front of Picton.
I was thinking he was on the Gibson range looking towards Mt Gibson - which I believe was the exit from the Franklands walk.
If that was the case - stu would have been with him?
