Reminds me of the Rams Heads but I've never seen anything like that up there. Just trying to remember if there's a neat section of paved track going out to Townsend where it skirts around Wilkinson's Valley.

Not sure if the basin has a name - but the peak at back is Carruthers and this is a valley between Twynam and Carruthers. The creek should be Strzelecki Creek.
PS - whats the rope(?) going up the slope at back?

Thats it. Looking over the headwaters of Strzelecki Creek. Very popular camping spot in Summer.

Ah, that's why couldn't reconcile the elaborately constructed path. They were building that track last time I was up there.

Will you stop dropping off the high points please eggs, and involving cloud to confuse me :). Maybe at the back of Twynam.
Are you on the saddle below Tennyson Woods Knoll looking towards Sentinel ridge and the distant ridgeline containing Alice Rawson, Townsend etc?
I don't recall ever seeing a summer drift that large in that location though.

Photo was taken 30th Dec 2022.
And pretty much - the gully running down from the saddle to a bigger drop off.
We had just been up to Tennyson Woods Knoll after coming from Twynam.

I last visited Twynam et al January the same year. Time to return I think.

Still NSW:

Are you on the Sentinel?

The Sentinel is definitely worth a visit if you haven't done it.
But I'm not there. Probably 8 or 9 km east-ish away.

Mueller, wiith a little bit of Albina just visible? Although I don't think it's that far to the Sentinel even by the track, so probably not.

Sorry NNW, getting colder and going in the wrong direction. Like I often do :).

Just looking for the name of the big ridge we're looking at. There's a watercourse running through a ravine between it and where he's standing. Those bumps on the ridge also have a name. We're at or near a named trig point.

Very hard to pick without having been there.
Lets try being on Mt Wheatley looking at Porcupine Rocks?

Still cold. See my earlier clue about relative position to the Sentinel. We may actually be more NE of it in hindsight. We started from a man made structure several kms to the left. Heading via a circuit for a peak higher on the ridge in view and having the same name. We arrived at that summit later in the day.

I was actually just looking for Tate East Ridge but both those answers are correct.
We are near the Guthega trig heading for Consett Stephen Pass and back to Guthega via Mt Tate etc.
Yes I think that would be Anderson poking through on the far left.
Good work eggs but crollsurf got there first.

That was lucky. NSW again, taken at a spot that was in the comp not that long ago.

Looks like a sunrise in the Rams Heads? Are you near the "Southerly Rams Head" looking east towards the Thredbo River/Cascades area?

OK I'll assume you're on North Rams Head. I think I have a similar shot in my collection somewhere, albeit without the sunrise.
The one I posted from that spot the other week was looking more northerly.
