Yes, correct eggs.

Very moody John, though my last view of Pelion East was also misty but covered in snow.

That's the Cockscomb, but I'm not sure of the location from where the shot was taken. It seems too low to be on the Hippo or the Hills, yet the angle suggests Hill 4 ...
Mon 19 Feb, 2024 9:29 am
Yes - it was around Hill 3-4 so over to you.

Be interesting to climb down onto those sloping terraces.
Once again, name the lake:

Lake Ball?

Lake Adelaide, South end from the Junction Lake Track ?
Thu 22 Feb, 2024 1:20 pm
Neither of those, I was off-track, once again. You are in the right NP.
Thu 22 Feb, 2024 1:33 pm
Long Lake - low lying surrounds - right park.
Maybe Travellers Rest Lake?
Thu 22 Feb, 2024 1:34 pm
Edit: Missed Eggs' post. I was going to try Malbena.
Thu 22 Feb, 2024 7:32 pm
Malbena is closest so far. In fact, I was there earlier this day.
Obviously those peaks at the back aren't as recognisable as II thought.
Thu 22 Feb, 2024 7:49 pm
Lake Norman is near Malbecs and that does look like Pelion East on the horizon which lines up.

Norman looks promising - but that will probably be Mts of Jupiter / Olympus & Goulds Sugarloaf at back in that case
Fri 23 Feb, 2024 6:51 am
eggs is right with the peaks, but Graham got in first with Stormin' Norman.

Which approach did you use NNW?

I'd rather not be too specific, but part of the trip involved checking out reports from the Malbena campaign of a rogue trackcutter operating between Eagle and Norman.

Sheesh... walking between Eagle and Norman is clear and easy (at least compared so some other nearby areas). Why would they do that? (Rhetorical question, of course.)
Fri 23 Feb, 2024 8:56 am
Probably junction then.
The walking through there isn't too bad for us walkers and fishers. But they won't want the high paying guests walking through even light scrub when they're flown in.

I was just looking for a longish lake in the area.
Where was I choosing my breakfast cereal?

Yes eggs. I thought it would go more quickly, everyone must be off walking.
