Interesting furrow that. I was very curious about it when I saw it. There are others similar, on the top of Thetis and Olympus for example. I wonder what causes them?

Big Gun Pass it is. Back to you Tortoise.
And sorry, I can't explain what causes them, but would bee interested as well if anyone has the answer.

At a guess, collapse of a cave below the surface rock.

Neat place to camp, though I was further south.

King Davids Peak?
Thu 11 Apr, 2024 11:01 pm
Clumner?
Fri 12 Apr, 2024 7:37 am
Neither. I wasn't on a peak, just walking from this place to that.
Fri 12 Apr, 2024 1:07 pm
Between Deception and Clumner?
Fri 12 Apr, 2024 1:12 pm
Not that high.
Fri 12 Apr, 2024 11:09 pm
Sort of leaves February Plains - which must also be in the foreground?
Sat 13 Apr, 2024 8:25 am
Not February Plains. The Clumner/King Davids guesses were closer. In fact, at least one of those has been cut out of the shot.
I'm fairly sure you've been here.

Checks some old photos .... hmm, I have similar from near Solomon's Jewels

Going the wrong way.
I know you've been to my next landmark.

Ophel?
Sat 13 Apr, 2024 1:38 pm
Not that close to the central Walls and I'm not on a peak.
I'm walking from wet bit to wet bit.

No one jumping in?
The angle would be similar in the walk from Adelaide to Loane, but there would only be a few spots that allow a view of Barn & Cradle.
Maybe near Stretcher Creek?
Sat 13 Apr, 2024 3:48 pm
You're still on the wrong side of the central Walls.

Checks other photos... I have not been on the ridge west from Daisy Lakes, but I do have a shot as we were heading down towards North Daisy which is starting to line up.
Our approach did not get your view - so I suspect you may have been on that western ridge.

Bang on. At last. A little lower you could still see Thor, but I thought that would be too much of a giveaway.
Ended up passing Nutting rather than Daisies, just to keep on the easier country. Kind of neat there and around the southern end of the Looooong Tarns.

Close, but not Pavement
Sun 14 Apr, 2024 2:27 pm
I was thinking the Knuckle but maybe a bit too much vegetation
Sun 14 Apr, 2024 3:54 pm
Knuckle is closer, but this is on the edge

Storys Bluff?
