Repeating image and clue for new page, NSW:

- Looking towards the Rams Head (background RHS) from the Southerly Rams Head, Kosciuszko NP via Thredbo NSW
I'm coming down from one peak, then "heading" for the one at the back.
peregrinator wrote:Bulls Head Rock?
Not Bulls Head Rock, don't know that one. There is Bulls Peaks in this NP but much further north.

Looks a bit like twynam from Alice Rawson.

Not there, I'm about 10 km from Alice Rawson. I can't see Twynam from here.

The hill in the centre is unnamed. My objective at the back shares part of its name with others.
I could just see the distant Twynams once I reached the summit.

Is the one at the back Mt Tate?

Not Mt Tate eggs, getting further away.
This peak is well south of Mt Twynam and others.

My first thought had been Townsend?

Looking to Rams Head, maybe approaching from Rams Head North?

More than 7 km south of Townsend eggs.
Tyreless wrote:Looking to Rams Head, maybe approaching from Rams Head North?
Rams Head is correct Tyreless. Not approaching from Rams Head North though, I visited that later on.
Opposite direction, I'm descending from the Southerly Rams Head looking north-ish.
One of my favourite parts of the range.

This looks very familiar. Etheridge Ridge distant left, and looking towards I think Clarke and Northcote above Moraine Pass.
I think you''ll be climbing up the hill from Charlotte Pass to Blue Lake, Main Range track etc.
Carruthers and Lee probably obscured behind the boulders.

I’ll pay that, but I am perhaps in a slightly different place. Yes, I’m next to the Main Range Track heading to Blue Lake, but I think I am looking north east with Crummer Spur in the background. I liked the rock outcrops and proliferation of alpine flowers.

Thanks Tyreless. Yes the alpine wildflowers can be spectacular some years. A while ago I found out that those pretty reddish/rust coloured ones are actually an introduced pasture weed.
Mmm, a little confused about the location. I took this shot from high on the Crummer Spur, directly above Blue Lake and just below Little Twynam, which prompted my answer.

Still NSW:

Just above headly tarn, just up from the saddle between Carruthers and Twynam

I'll pay the last part, this patch of windswept feldmark is more or less on the saddle between Carruthers and Twynam. I'm overlooking the top of the ridge that leads to the Sentinel. Hedley Tarn is several kms away back down the hill below Blue Lake.

The rocky one in the middle reminds me of Snowy Bluff. It's just been far too long since I was in the Vic Alps for me to make much of that.

Stapylton way off in the distance.
You are on the fortress?

Stapylton...very good.
I was hoping for "Hole in the Wall", but we were near the upper Fortress campsite.

Eggs, you are genius! Or at least, an extremely acute observer.
Once you provided the answer, I had to agree. But prior to that, I had given up trying.
