No, I had glorious conditions there, darker.

Not Darkes Peak either?
Wed 17 Jul, 2024 9:41 pm
No, Darkes peak was same weekend, same conditions. Darker

Let's try Black Bluff Range. Doesn't get much darker than that.

Somewhere around the top of Meander Falls?
Sat 20 Jul, 2024 10:53 am
Yes that is close enough, I was at the top of the Bastion Bluff track. This photo shows the view from the high point at the left of the previous picture.

Wylds?
Mon 22 Jul, 2024 9:29 am
Not Wylds, but we could see it from here.
Mon 22 Jul, 2024 10:50 am
And I may have misled you - there's not as much zoom as there would have been from Wylds.

Which rules out Shakespeare. Diamond being south of Frenchmans should also rule out Reeds or Bonds, but I don't think it's far enough south to be from KWII or Slatters or Hobhouse, so I'm at a loss. Probably just not reading those angles right.

Correct

Incorrect, but it's neither of those. You're closing in on it here.
but I don't think it's far enough south to be from KWII or Slatters or Hobhouse
Incorrect, if I understand you. It's too far south to be from from KWII or Slatters or Hobhouse
Probably just not reading those angles right.
I had a go myself, as if coming at it cold. The angles are quite tricky. It helped when I added (what I think is) Clytie to the Frenchmans/Diamond Peak mix.

That's the spot, Last. I can highly recommend camping between Lk Gordon and Pokana for a lovely leisurely lounge on top. Much better than an 18 hour day without getting to the summit on our previous attempt!
