That's it. Not even at the footbridge yet. I was quite surprised to see that range off to the west.

Thank you NNW

I remember seeing the range on the drive into Augusta last time I visited; I was very surprised too!
Where was my evening wander this week?

In the Vale of Belvoir?

Very close..
Try higher
Sun 08 Jun, 2025 5:07 pm
If it's close then you're possibly on the PCT - Penguin to Cradle Trail. If it's higher I'll stab at somewhere near Winterbrook Falls' top, perhaps looking towards Black Bluff. I can't imagine Mayday looks so well manicured. So I'll say you're on the Black Bluff Range but that's still vague.

Beecroft section of the PCT, just south of Rocky Mount.

Spot on NNW, beautiful country

I had just started the climb up Rocky Mount after visiting Beecroft.
Great effort as well vagrom

Amazing. My Listmap version shows the Belvoir Rd connector road as non-existant where the PCT crosses it to Beecroft, but only when it's zoomed to 1/25k. Rockliff needs to sort this . (Go the Devil's ...)

Hahah the old TASMAP 1:25000 for the area (Lea) was produced in 1984

Turns into the VDL Track and then vanishes. The western connection to the highway is relatively recent - and, given its condition last time I was on it, it has had close to zero maintenance since construction.
Time for a trip down memory lane:

Think I was closer to Koruna, but that'll do.

Smoko Falls?
Sun 15 Jun, 2025 10:57 pm
That's the one Graham. They are usually just a trickle. I headed up after rain. A pristine walk. Apologies for the delay. Site issues. Looks to be OK now.

Are these otherwise known as Chasm Falls? Except they don't appear to be in a chasm ; more like flowing over the edge at the top. Listmap only mentions Chasm Falls.
Mon 16 Jun, 2025 12:06 am
Chasm Falls are on an adjacent creek Vagrom.
