It is a pity that some of the entries come out pixilated after they have been re-sized. The lack of clarity may hide the fact that they are poorly focused or it may not do them justice in the case of well focused pictures.

I've had the same gripe about these competitions(not just this one), we should be able to open them up to have a real good look at them.
P.S. Good to see so many from the big island!

The problem with including the whole large image for display is that people might want their work protected in such a way that it cannot be downloaded full size.
I could go back to getting the user to downsize it themselves, and submit only the downsized version instead, but this makes compiling the calendar from the winners' photos into a much more difficult job to coordinate that it would otherwise be.

Nik
Perhaps there could be a group Photobucket account that entrants could also post to, when they enter, if they want to.
A different directory for each month.
Not compulsory, but if you want your entry viewed at a better resolution its your call?

Beautiful shot iandsmith, you got my vote, and some fantastic shots from around the mainland, photos 4, 7 and 8(for me) were awe inspiring also, thanks for putting them up.

Yes, a lovely sunset picture iandsmith, congratulations.
Stepbystep, I also thought your Binalong Bay picture was beautiful. It almost looks like a painting. Did you do any photoshop magic to it or was it just the lighting that made those golden rocks look almost soft?
I don't know why but tonight I don't have the pixilation evident in any of the pictures - has something changed or is it just my computer being erratic?

HaHa, Jose, thanks?
It was an amazing morning at BB(my first) I have several from that day, but none compare to that amazing day at WARNERS BAY by iandsmith,
All i did was 10% saturation added. the rest of the pics that morning were amazing(to me), so glad to see great pics from the big island.....

Beautiful sunset iandsmith. For me the two people on the jetty make it a great picture - is it because you imagine yourself there?
Like the look of Mt Lidgbird - very spectacular.

Thanks for the rap fellas. I just got lucky with the people on the wharf. I'd taken half a dozen when they walked out there and then the seagulls started going nutty as well. When I'm in Newy I walk around there three or four times a week and have better shots than that but unfortunately in the wrong month.
Currently in S.A. so might get a reasonably one while I'm over here.
Cheers all.
