Around the Meander area would be helpful but also I would like some other suggestions from all over Tassie.

In that area all the tracks up front of Western Tiers are good ones (IMO).
They can be treated as up and down or up one and down another. Most would require a second vehicle or drop off though.
In order - west to east
Yeates, Parsons, Sids, Higgs, Western creek, Mother Cummins (not from front of tiers)
Note these tracks are NOT connected and so would require 'off track' walking. In these areas there are wallably tracks one can follow and I know some are 'cairned'.
Have I I've missed one in that region - someone please add if missed off?
Not sure how adventurous you want to get?
hope these help.

Thanks, I have done Sids, Higgs, Western Creek and Mother Cummins a number of times and they are really good so I would do them again, and I think Western Creek is the hardest so far out of those ones, and I will have to try Yeates and Parsons.

Taswegian took the words right out of my mouth. I love joining tracks together. In some cases, it is to make more of a challenge. Sometimes, it's simply so I don't have to cover the same ground twice. For this reason, I love the Meander Falls / Ironstone area. There's a heap of different combinations possible there.

I'm tempted to say Lees Paddocks is my favourite track. However, the truth is I can't pin it down to just one. In reality, my favourite track is anywhere I haven't been before.

Now that I think some more, Lees would have to be it. It has mountains and waterfalls and feels like the middle of no-where without a hard walk. The shape of the valley means there are mountains on 4 sides (Pillinger, Pelion East, Cathedral plateau, Massif). Now that I have a family of my own it's even more special as it's a perfect introductory overnight destination for young walkers.

If I had one single favourite it would have to be Mawson/Lions Den/Field West/Tarn Shelf. It's a long day, but such a brilliant area.

I'd say my favourite to date as I've only ever done day walks would be Black Bluff with Meander Falls and Mt Pillinger close behind. They are all definately worth checking out

Or for another long day walk, Mawson/ Lake Belton/ Tyenna/ Florentine/ K Col/ Lake Dobson. A bit of this is off track, but is reasonably easy going. I made it to Florentine in a day in late Autumn, after a late start to the day. The full circuit would definately be achievable in summer.

Yeah, I'm hoping to give that a go next year when I get down. As long as the weather co-operates I'll squeeze in at least one day up there.
