Harsh... but fair.

Here's what we did: Walk Nth 20 mins from Echo Pt, take a bearing straight at the Southern Summit (we went at approx 228deg if I recall correctly) and walk up the hill staying right of the bearing, going up through the clifflines and forest until you hit the lakes. Then, either pick off the Northern summit, or the Southern one (which is the high point and apparently that's the "real" Olympus, even though it's not the named one on most maps... )

...countdown until this gets modded for being about a sensitive area.

Yep!!

Sorry, just get a bit over the same old questions being asked everyday. I know I could just ignore it, but I figure the more people that are alerted to the search function the easier it will be for them to get the answers they seek..... and then the same questions will stop appearing day in day out.....

Really... these questions have all been answered before. You should use the search feature, ILUVSWTAS!

I've not been up there so I wouldn't know. I've walked right around it, and noted several possible routes, none of which looked sensitive (from what I could see at the bottom). So if you (and others) don't tell me it's sensitive I probably will never know.

...until I eventually get up there myself, after which I might seek out this topic - if I can figure out how to find it again. ;-)

The little lakes up top could get screwed by too many people, but it's protected by being relatively hard to get to, and so beautiful I would expect people to respect the place. It's a great spot, if you get the chance.

Possibly misty or raining, cold with a chance of snow but more likely ice, and a possibility of sunshine and beautiful blue skies. Probably not much wind, but you never can be too sure.
