Must have forgotten to turn it on I guess...
Mmm - forgot to press the tracking button I reckon - only lasts for 24 hours each time
Sun 07 Nov, 2010 8:35 pm
Seems to be stuck at Derwent Bridge. I wonder if everything is on track?
Sun 07 Nov, 2010 9:19 pm
Maybe he's realised there is no track from Derwent bridge onwards......
Sun 07 Nov, 2010 9:23 pm
Or he needs a rest after swimming through Lake St Clair like that
Mon 08 Nov, 2010 7:28 am
Is it possible the SPOT doesnt work in scrub??
Actually the ferry operator on Lake St Clair said the helicopter as in the area the day before last, maybe he has run into some problems.
Mon 08 Nov, 2010 7:39 am
What's interesting is he was still half way down St Clair at the time it now says he was at Derwent Bridge - either a really dodgy tracking setup or he's thrown in the towel for one reason or another - pretty disappointing either way! I'm sure he has a tale to tell regardless.

Quite.
I suspect he may have been underestimating the section from Lake St Clair onwards. Hopefully he is ok though

It might not work all of the time, but my experience suggests that at least some of the tracking points would make it through.
We shouldn't jump to conclusions but it sure looks like something's not right.

Whatever's happened, less than 48 hours from Penguin to half way down Cradle Mtn is might keen, even if he did get a ride around Black Bluff.

Rest day maybe? I think I'd be ready for a day off after running that far..

Waiting for a hamburger and a coffee.

Hmm true. I wouldnt want to go past the hungry wombat without having one of those amazing burgers

I am most disappointed by the the crew that were going to update Garys' Blog...- nothing.
Garys' endeavour and goal is Heroic - without contact with sponsors and followers it can be nothing but a failed attempt.
Mental Health is important - please give anyway.

The plan was 6-8 days. He might still be running, he's only 6 days from his start now.
Not updating the blog is pretty weak though.
Thu 11 Nov, 2010 9:43 pm
I don't wish to be melodramatic, but does anyone know if Gary had a support crew accompanying him or meeting him at designated points? Who's looking out for him?
He's overdue and there is no news on any of the places we know about His Spot page, His Blog, His Everyday hero page, or even here.
I've posted a comment on the blog and paid a donation with a question about how he is getting on. Probably everything is ok and he's just struck a hiccup somewhere, but I'd feel pretty bad if he was in trouble and we were here cracking jokes about him.

A major journey like this im quite sure he would have some support waiting/following.... surely.... wouldnt he?? Yeh he'd have been crazy not to.
It would be nice to find out how he is and whats going on though.....

Hi I just thought I'd let u all know that Gary is safe. I'm sure he will update something soon to let everyone know what is going on
Fri 12 Nov, 2010 4:05 pm
Oh good! Thanks Bec081!!
We have all been wondering... Look forward to hearing the story

No worries ILUVSWTAS. I was reading all the posts and everyone seemed a bit concerned so I figured I'd let everyone know.
I'll admit, i was a worried when I saw his tracker stuck at Derwent Bridge but I do remember him saying that it may drop out sometimes due to terrain and weather.
Good to know he's ok still now

I must admit I am very intruiged, Did he finish?? Is he still going??
I suppose you cant shed anymore light on the situation??
Sat 13 Nov, 2010 11:26 am
Does anyone know for sure that he is o.k. No one has said so with any conviction so far.
