Family Tent

Hey guys,

We're looking at getting a decent 'family' tent (there's my wife and I plus 3 and a half kids!!), at the moment I'm leaning towards the Black Wolf Sahara:

Can anyone provide any advice in regards to this tent?....or provide any other suggestions??

We're looking for something that will last the long hual and hopefully not break the budget (maybe up to approx $600); any advice is welcome!!

Slightly less weight but considered almost bomb proof is the Aztec Palazio 6. Haven't used it myself but I know it's had good reviews in Europe. Might be worth a look?

Found this while looking for something else Phil, perhaps a little smaller but way lighter (n cheaper).
I havent tried them but Kelty have a decent reputation. I have a coupon to bring the ridiculously cheap price down even further if you want it?:

Thanks for all the advice; and thanks for the offer Nuts. Haven't purchased yet but looking too soon. We're not too worried about weight as it won't be for bushwalking but rather 'car camping'.....

Big tents are OK for a while, but i found as my girls got to 10 & 12 they wanted their own space, so i was lucky that I had a set of 2-person lite weight tents on hand, Old model Eureka firelights are great. What was most of use to us was a couple of really big fly sheets, i used the cheapest DMH brand polyester ones and added lots of extra loops and tie downs, gave us plenty of rain and sun protection and allowed us to share a space, only with privacy for sleeping

I quite like the oztrail bungalow or villa. Both are two bedrooms off a central storage area then there is a front vestibule area that is weather proof if it turns ugly or opens up to be a full no see um area to sit. The villa is bigger than the bungalow.

I last year was torn when deciding on a tent and in the end went for canvas. Whilst it's a great tent it's huge when packed so I'm thinking of going back to plan a) the oztrail bungalow (or the black wolf turbo 300 plus if I can afford it

Both the oztrails can be picked up fairly reasonably new on eBay.
