TIP: The online
Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

G'day folks, Just new to the forum. I'm looking for a larger tent, for occasional use, that can accommodate 2 persons comfortably, with gear, for more than one night at the one location. I would be using it more for motorcycle trekking more than hiking (I have a Nemo Morpho AR for hiking with which I'm well pleased). I was thinking of the Kathmandu Taku or the Black Wolf Hornet. I like what I read about the Hornet, but it seems very similar to the Taku & I can get the Taku for about AUD150 less that the best price I can locate on line for the BWH. The Taku is heavier, but for the occasional times I would use it, it seems like it would do the job ok.

How much are we talking here? Kathmanpoos website says $300 for the Taku, does that make the Black Wolf $450?? If that is the ballpark price then I wouldn't buy either. Out of the two, with the Taku 30%+ less I'd buy that. But at 4.5kg wow that's heavy for bushwalking!
