water on Freycinet Peninsula

Does anyone know what the current situation is regarding water available on the Freycinet Peninsula Circuit?

I did a day walk of over 40kms 2 years ago to Bryan's Beach following the coast from Cookes Beach all the way...so off track for quite a time...and found no water at all...suffice to say my original 2ltrs wasn't enough.....though was able to get some on returning past the huts at Cookes Beach.
If you're going over Mt Graham....Graham Creek itself is usually fairly reliable but may need to access it down stream from where the track crosses...as I did a year or so earlier. The only other creek that had any water at all was on the track to Cookes Beach on the southern side of Mt Freycinet.
Since then I no longer carry water for day walks at all......replacing it with Gatorade entirely.
Having tested this repeatedly I would never just take water as the difference is remarkable.
As an example..on a day trip to Pillinger with 3 other walkers...I carried 1 ltr of Gatorade...they had 2 ltrs of water which they'd drank and replenished along the way along with their toilet stops....I had only just used my 1ltr on return...no toilet stop at all...and all over 7.5 hr period. I was still compeletely hydrated with plenty of energy....which is another factor as there is just over a 1000kjs for 1 ltr of Gatorade...zero for water of course...with very negligible weight difference.
I'm surprised more walkers don't specifically use it instead of water as it's scientifically formulated to stop de-hydration through fluid loss plus the added bonus of replacing critical electrolytes.

I walked the peninsular in early December 2010. The only water we found that looked drinkable was Graham creek and another small creek around the back of Mt Freycinet. We crossed a couple of other creeks but you would have had to have been desperate to drink out of them! The lagoon at the end of the Hazards next to the campsite was flowing quite well out onto the beach but we where on the way out and did not stop and take much notice of the quality?

The tank water at Cooks hut had lots of larvae looking things swimming in it. My buddy drank a heap before we realised but he suffered no ill effects. Not sure if he ingested any or not. We boiled it after that.

Graham Creek had a small but steady flow, just before you cross it at the top of the hill.

[pedant] If you were following the coast, I'd have thought there would have been plenty of water. After all, the original poster hasn't specified whether it has to be drinkable water.[/pedant]
