Field East Circuit

Sun 22 Jun, 2008 3:21 pm

There was some discussion about the Field East circuit walk under the topic "Belton and Belcher". At the time I mentioned that the Old Pack Track could be used to complete the Field East Circuit walk and thus avoid a considerable length of road walking (1.5k). Being on a track is also a significant safety benefit.

Since then working bees by the Friends of Mt Field have cleared a large part of the old track.

The track junction is now also marked on the leg down from Lake Nicholls and can be easily followed to the road near Lady Barron Creek and picked up gain a short distance past the creek. For more information go to http://bushwalktracknotes.blogspot.com/ ... rcuit.html

Good to see that you've broken the ice with that first post. There are some fantastic walks at Mt. Field such as Mount Field west,
tarn shelf, rodway range etc.
The camping at Park Headquarters is also very good and convenient.
