Yep, Lamington NP... Well, from Kamarun lookout technically, but that is close enough to the park ;)
As you said, there is Mt Lindesay, Mt Barney, Ballow massif, Mt Maroon too and I believe Wilson's Pk peeking though!
Your go!

OK, one from WA. Where is Rachel (National Park & beach (or cliff!)). Though I'll be out of play tomorrow so someone should get in quick!

About 27 years ago I reckon I visited this beach (before DSLRs)
It was quite a drive off from the main road and a gorgeous beach with virtually noone there, but quite a striking backdrop.

Just checking the map to freshen up on the actual name....
I think it is Walpole-Nornalup National Park - Conspicuous Beach - Conspicuous Cliff

In case Eggs is wrong (which seems unlikely from his tone) is it Lucky Bay in Cape le Grande National Park?

Eggs is usually spot on ... and he is again in this case. From a road/bushwalking trip in 2005

I was quite tempted to put one of the photos of the climbing trees, but resisted.

I imagine we might get to photos of trees at some stage - hopefully not too soon.

Where in Queensland am I?

Hi climberman,

I have just found Bald Hill (now sometimes called Mt Hudson) it is actually called Mount Hudson or Adaminaby trig on the latest maps and we are not looking in that area.

tony

Sort of. It was called Bald Hill on maps until it was (very recently) changed to Mount Hudson on two sets of maps (series 3 LPI 1:25K and the recent 1:50K rooftop map). Anyone who is connected to Eucumbene area would know it as Bald Hill. Hudson is only in the last few years. I am unaware of the reason for the change.

Thanks Eggs, an hour of researching Queensland waterfalls this morning, I found it by accident as I miss typed a word that I had entered into google images.

What is the name of the mountain in the middle of this photo, the state is ACT.

Not overly confident Tony but I'll have a go. Is it Mt Gudgenby?

Re: Game: Where-is-it (Aussie)

Hi John,

Correct, Mt Gudgenby from the North, I was standing in the old Boboyan Pine plantation not long after the 2003 fires went through the area.

Mt Gudgenby is one of the most popular day walks in the Namadgi National Park, the walk starts from the Yankee Hat Car park, part way up there is a big granite slab that is fun to climb or scramble up. Believe it or not it snowed on us the day that this photo was taken.

I noticed the fire damage in the foreground. Some interesting looking walks around the ACT which I have to get around to investigating. Looks like a bum-slide getting back down that!

Let's go with another QLD one:

Yes, Mt Greville. I took this from the road on the way back from another walk in Moogerah Peaks NP. Mt Greville had been an option for us but we started too late in the day. So a photo had to do instead . Your go isoma.

Nice half day walk that one John with a couple of interesting routes to choose from.
I'll have to pass this time as I'm heading off tonight for a couple of days, so anyone can go.

Nice area Lizzy, walked around there quite a bit. Probably should have got that first time. Son only got back from there yesterday after a 2 day paddling trip with his TAFE outdoor ed class. The same route I think, I'll have to ask him.
Another from NSW. What am I looking at? Bonus points if you can name the feature that I'm standing next to.

Looks like a cave populated area and possibly somewhere in the Blue Mountains, but that is all from me......

It is in the Blue Mountains. Not really a cave populated area as such (ie not limestone karst), but there are plenty of rocky overhangs.

Further clues. This is a relatively unusual view of a commonly visited mountain in a popular bushwalking area. It is normally approached from the opposite side.
I am appoximately 1.2km NE of the summit, facing roughly southwest. I'm standing next to a named feature that is registered with the NSW Geographical Names Board. This about 400m away from another named feature that is probably better known. I walked to here from near the top of this view but did not follow any formed tracks, rather a mix of trackless and vague pads. Hopefully that helps...
