Billy Lifter for gramme counters

G'day this is one for the gramme counter( or gear tragic like me ) weighs less than half the Trangia lifter :)

I have one (generic)that was something like 30g.
After spending a couple of hours drilling holes in it and filing it down I saved 5g.
The tragic part is that I don't use pot lifters...

My current "pot" is a 550ml mug with handles..
(the handles are lighter than a pot lifter)

Yes I also use a 550 UL Ti pot with handles but need a 5g bit of leather as a pot lifter as the handles get really hot .


However now my main walking mate (son) is back home for a while we will be doing the cooking/water boiling for two so I have resurrected my Tatonka Ti combi 2 billy 1 lid pan set and have given their lifter , pan handle and bag (90g) the flick in favour of the 24g (on my scales) Vango lifter so a 66g weight decrease :)

The handles don't get that hot for me with the Caldera Cone.
The trick is to keep them apart .

Just tried the test with the Tibetan 550ml UL Ti Mug/Pot on my Fire Maple FMS-116T 48g burner and yes keeping the handles apart does work thanks Franco :)
