I have to admit, your post title caught my attention.. but your blog was good. I have to admit, I haven't really thought much about the result of 'number 2's' in the bush. I figured that there is always going to be poo there (whether it's human or non-human). But when you mention it, would the raw tonnage of human waste outweight the tonnage of animal waste? There's an interesting question.

I suppose you could always go SAS - bag everything (including poo & urine) and carry it out.

Its a good title. Even birds have enough sense not to poo in their own nests. Its a pity that a large number of visitors to lake Rhona don't appear to be as smart as the average bird. I think its probably a combination of of different things. Maybe some people think that its a remote area and don't realize they are one of many. Maybe its just a lack of respect for where they are - "we're in the bush, it all natural anyway". Maybe they know and just don't care; selfishly taking the convenient option.

Educating people to truly respect the "Low impact walking" philosophy is the answer. Being out there is a privilege, not a right. Your are a visitor, so show some respect. Clean up after yourself - leave no traces. Its not surprising that forum members are keen on low impact walking.

I reckon the best way is to start spreading rumors.
For eg. Fish that swim up urine streams. Or... Did you hear the one about that Feral Pig up at Lake Rhona? It was charging people when they had their pants down! Apparently it's still out there somewhere?!
