Essential Peice of Equipment

TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Essential Peice of Equipment

Postby troiks » Wed 04 May, 2011 3:38 pm

well not really but.....

http://www.patsbcb.com/

I will definitely give this a go when it comes out. Hopefully it will be soon.

However I think it will be important to have realistic expectations, like with freeze dried meals. They are not restaurant quality & I cant see this being as good as a 'proper' beer. Hopefully it tastes better than VB

What does everyone here think

Cheers
Andrew

This timeless combo works just fine for me, thankyou very much... just because you're doing it tough and packing light, doesn't means you ahve to scrimp on everything...

Interesting idea, but honestly, I can't imagine it'd taste anywhere near like a decent beer (not even to the low standards of VB), and if I had a choice between no beer and sh*t tasting packet instant-beer... I'd rather go sober.

Did you say Guiness pig? ;)

Taste aside (and who knows, we could be pleasantly surprised), my other concern would be keeping the "water-that-will-become-beer" cold - fine if you're up above the snow line, but not much fun mid-summer in Aus.

Ha ha, who knows, the beer on the website is black.

But yeah, this defintely wont do in summer..... not that warm wine and or vodka is much better however I could not imagine drinking warm beer on a hot day

Drinking anything alcoholic on a hot day is counter-productive, as alcohol is a diuretic. Why not stick to lovely cold, clean mountain water?

Adequately diluted with pure, clean Scotch!
