Pillinger can be easily accessed from the Arm River track. There is a loop of track which heads left (south) at about gr 283721 and sidles around the slope for about 1 km then heads ssw then west along an open flat, past a
small tarn to rejoin the main track at about gr 266716
The steep narrow track to pillinger starts in the vicinity of the tarn heading up into thick scrub
Ihave not been to the top myself as time didn't allow but i'd imagine the view would be really special
The arm river track is marked on Rowallen 1:25000 starting at gr 297727
Cheers
John

the view from pillinger is well worth the effort.the first 30 minutes is spent
walking up a very steep patch but after that it is quite easy. You will come across a sign with a walkers checkin box after you level out on top.It is at this very point you take the less walked track to the left and follow the pad up the small creek up to a small tarn where you turn left and enter the trees.
Dont be alarmed if you seem to be heading away from Mt pillinger as you follow this track as it loops around to the easiest side to get to the top.
If time allows on the return, you can head left at the tarn and follow the pad around to the arm track and then turn right and loop back to the checkin box via a small lake.I believe that this track used to be called the mobil track due to the use of mobil oil cans to mark the track.

Have they replaced the walkers registration box ? as some idiot vandalised it and on my last visit this year it had not been replaced

my last visit was in november and it was there then.
Can you remember what the sign reads?
maybe cradle mountain national park,no dogs or firearms allowed?
The track to pillenger starts at that spot.
