TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Blackwolf/Denai tent

Fri 03 Jun, 2011 2:22 am

Hi all,

Just been given a Denali Kakadu tent, more commonly known as the Blackwolf Stealth Mesh (EXACTLY the same tent). I have noticed that it has been rated a 2+ season tent, but I have been camping with it a few times, where it has been bucketing down with rain, and no water got in at all. Does anyone else have any experience with this tent? Is it the wind that kills the season rating on this tent, or is it more of a 3 season after all?

I just had a good play with this tent. Our club has a few of them to lend out.
Its actually not a bad little tent, except that it is SUCH A PAIN to put back into it's stuffsack! it reminds me of my cheap $40 tent i used on the overland track.

are you thinking for WA? should be fine, i spent a winter (8 weeks) in a very similar la sportiva over there. Fibreglass poles werent the problem in the end, it was poor UV coating and the side ripped out. Handled the wind pretty well. Its rating is likely a worldwide thing, obviously wouldnt take much of a snowload at all.
