As I recall the story, the decision was made here to not continue with the traverse, but retrace their route back to Scotts Peak Dam.

I dount the Monoliths would be a sensitive area would they? Discussing open on the forum is probably not going to encourage hundreds of people to rush into this range.... none that know what the'd be getting themselves into anyway

Thanks Tas -Man. Fantastic looking place. My monthly lottery ticket didnt come up trumps, so no full time peak bagging for me. So many fantastic looking places to visit. Thanks for the glimpse into this very rarely visited place. I wonder how often it is visited? Once every 2-3 years perhaps. Great to daydream on future adventures.

ahh, Brings back some memories..

Is that crossing the Dodds river?
It took us 3hrs to find a way across, the water was way up - the comment way well lets just swim it - the reply was a quite resounding NO! We managed to find an island where the river split and reduced the water flow enough that we could find a way across. On the other side we found a fallen log. We got up onto the range and realised we'd grossly under estimated the time we needed.

Yes! I think the expression on all their faces says something about the three days experience to that point
