I'm going in October. Planning on doing the walls through to the overland then to cradle. I'm hoping to see snow.
You guys should have a good time.
Were you wanting someone with experience in case of emergencies? In December its not very difficult to find yourself in a group. I think 35 people set out each day to walk the overland.
Those 35 are all going to be trying to get to the hut first too.
Are you experienced walkers?

Thanks for the reply. I'm reasonably trained. Just did a 3 day hike camping last weekend and it went well so I think overland track will be fine. Learned a lot about hiking in the rain as it was pouring down for the first 2 days. I need to do some more shopping for rainprotection

Hi everybody. Just found out my hiking buddy cancelled on me. She did pay the permit so I'm looking for somebody else to join me now. Because I really don't feel like doing this on my own. Anybody hiking the week before xmas that wants to join me for a bit?!?

That's a real bummer.
I'm walking the overland early Feb with 3 work mates. I'm hoping none of them bail on me too!
Your friend can apply to parks for a refund of the pass here.
http://www.parks.tas.gov.au/file.aspx?id=9585You will lose 25% of the fee, unless you can prove "unavoidable and unpredictable" change in circumstances (like an injury/illness) etc.
Good luck!

I'm in the same boat as you - booked for 2 on the 13th of Dec. and my walking partner bailed out. If you can walk earlier then we could have a chat about it, but I can't go any later. Good luck and peace out.

Hi, I hope you find another hiking buddy. I did find another friend interested and out the permit on his name. I can't go earlier anyway.
Good luck!
