Getting started
From the end of Vimiera Road, this walk follows the footpath through the tunnel under the M2 Motorway. The walk then follows the concrete path past the 'Lane Cove National Park' sign, zigzagging down the side of the valley. The track continues down until it flattens to a gentle downward slope, and comes to intersection with a bush track signposted as the 'Terrys creek walking track'.
From the intersection, this walk follows the concrete management trail down the gentle hill to the picnic tables and clearing signposted as 'Browns Waterhole'.....

	Start. After 60 m head through/around the gate. After another 25 m pass the "Weerona Reserve" (25 m on your left).
	After another 15 m continue straight. After another 65 m head through the tunnel (about 45 m long)

	After another 200 m veer right. After another 55 m cross the bridge (about 15 m long) After another 35 m pass the picnic table (9 m on your right).
	Continue straight. After another 15 m continue straight. After another 35 m find the "Browns Waterhole" (15 m on your right). Browns Waterhole Browns Waterhole is a wide, shallow section of the Lane Cove River, downstream of a concrete weir. There is a concrete shared cycle/footpath crossing over the top of the weir, linking Kissing Point Road, South Turramurra to Vimiera Rd, Macquarie Park. On the western side of the waterhole, there is a picnic table and small clearing with a view over this section of the river. After another 6 m cross the bridge (about 9 m long)
	After another 10 m veer right. After another 10 m pass the "The Great North Walk" (9 m on your left). After another 25 m pass the "Walking and Service Trails in the Lane Cove Valley" (7 m on your left).
	After another 4 m veer right.
	After another 280 m turn right. After another 810 m veer right.
	After another 50 m turn right.
	After another 305 m continue straight. After another 40 m veer left. After another 125 m cross the ford.
	After another 10 m turn right. After another 35 m pass the "Walking and Service Trails in the Lane Cove Valley" (8 m on your left).
	After another 165 m continue straight.
	After another 610 m turn right. After another 110 m continue straight.
	After another 30 m continue straight. After another 70 m cross the bridge (about 6 m long)
	After another 450 m veer right.
	After another 35 m veer right. After another 80 m cross the ford.
	After another 520 m turn right. After another 30 m pass the sign (6 m on your right). After another 115 m cross the bridge (about 9 m long)
	After another 70 m turn left. After another 30 m pass the sign (6 m on your right). After another 290 m come to a gate.

  NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service will be conducting a baiting program using manufactured baits and fresh baits containing 1080 poison (sodium fluroacetate) for the control of foxes. The program is continuous and ongoing between 1 February 2025 and 31 July 2025 in Lane Cove National Park. Don’t touch baits. Penalties apply for non-compliance.
  
  All baiting locations are identifiable by signs.
  
  Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW national parks and reserves. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

  Lane Cove Depot Road and part of Max Allen Road, along with the adjacent picnic areas, will be closed from 31 March 2025 to 15 September 2025 due to essential geotechnical works. Weather events may extend these works.
  
  The following areas will be closed to all pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles:

  Max Allen Road will have no public access beyond Lane Cove Cafe and area office.
  
  Turrumburra, Bakers Flat, Casuarina Point, Cormorant Corner, Haynes Flat and Thistlethwaites picnic areas.
