Starting from Barokee campground this circuit walk will take you up the Cathedral Rock across boulders for great views over the national park. Let us begin by acknowledging the Gumbaynggirr & Anaiwan people, Traditional Custodians of the land on which we travel today, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

  • At roundabout, take exit 1 onto Dangar Street, B78 and drive for another 1 km
  • At roundabout, take exit 3 onto Barney Street, B78 and drive for another 1.5 km
  • At roundabout, take exit 2 onto Grafton Road, B78, 17 and drive for another 70.6 km
  • Turn left onto Round Mountain Road and drive for another 7.7 km
  • Turn right onto Camping Area and drive for another 265 m

Start.
After 10 m to find the car park.
Then pass the toilet (55 m on your left).
Then pass the sign (85 m on your left).
Then come to the "Barokee Campground" (110 m on your left).
After another 230 m cross the bridge (about 3 m long)
After another 170 m veer right.
After another 1.8 km continue straight.
The starting point of an optional sidetrip. Side trip across boulders to Cathedral Rock summit for stunning views. To start this optional side trip veer left here. On returning from this side trip turn left when you get back to this intersection. Details below.
After another 310 m continue straight.
After another 10 m pass a seat (on your left).
After another 720 m cross the bridge (about 7 m long)
After another 20 m cross the bridge (about 3 m long)
After another 320 m cross the ford.
After another 380 m cross the ford.
After another 350 m veer right.
After another 170 m cross the bridge (about 3 m long)
After another 240 m come to the end.

Side trip across boulders to Cathedral Rock summit for stunning views.

Continue another 430 m to find Cathedral Rock at the end.

Turn around and retrace your steps back the 450 m to the main route.
