Bonnie Doon? Travel to

Cecile has to drive to Bonnie Doon for "THING" Google is giving her a route that I think might not be the best/easiest drive.
If you were headed from Geelong to there which way would you drive??

Last August I travelled from Geelong to Whitfield via Mansfield (and from there return route all the way home via Bendigo!). Forward route was:

1. Hume Freeway, off at Laverton onto the Ring Road
2. Continue on. T/O onto C382 east of Broadford to Strath Creek, N to Kerriesdale, E to Yea (coffee, wee stop);
3. Yea to Merton, then =========> "We're going to Bonnie Dooooooooooooon!"

Murchison Gap is an airy perch, a literal "room with a view", but eyes should be on the road, not the haze-shrouded distant hills... :shock:

Easy.
A longer, more scenic, hilly and winding route from Euroa further on, S to Gooram and onto Merton and the highway.
Nowt of interest at BD now the Kerrigan's old bolthole has been sold and no longer welcomes sticky beaks with their phones! :lol:
