What brand for Freezer Bag Cooking?

I have a small trip coming up this weekend and I went to woolies to pick up some zip locks, ended up getting the GLAD Snap Lock bags which did say Freezer & Microwave safe, but when I poured water into them I could've sworn I could smell that melting plastic smell. Could just be me being paranoid though.
All the websites on the net have people using Zip Loc branded ones but I'm assuming that's a US brand only as I haven't seen them in stores here.
