Feet: Ledderhose disease

Tue 21 Apr, 2020 1:16 pm

Wondered if anyone has had experience with this - maybe GPs with an understanding of bushwalking who have treated it?
Getting worse, not from overuse, that's for sure! Quite painful, and I can see it limiting the distance I can walk in a day. I know there's no magic bullet, and I'd be reluctant to let a surgeon loose on my feet, especially knowing the relief wouldn't be permanent.
Ta for any thoughts.

I have a mild case of Dupuytren's contracture but until just now I didn't know it was related.
I assume you have a much more painful condition than mine.

The mild Dupuytrens doesn't bother me much, but my feet are quite painful at times. They still work, though! :)

Fortunately you are not suffering from the other dreaded Lederhosen syndrome, sharing a small bus with 30 sweaty Bavarians

Involuntary knee-slapping?

Sorry Tortoise, I'm not making light of your plight. It does look painful indeed. Do you have it in both feet?

No probs. Humour is a wonderful thing! :D Yep, both feet, but one is ok. Not extreme pain by any means, but enough to make longer days more difficult, and the pain keeps me awake that night. Still hoping for Federation when all this everything allows, but any vague dream of Prince of Wales Range is long gone. Reckon it'll be a matter of convincing companions to do more shorter days to get where we want. Hmmmm....
