Also I really wish whoever runs the Ben Lomond cams would learn to wipe the ice build up in front of them on a semi-regular basis!
I can see snow on the Snug Tiers from here. If there's been as much up north, it'll be white at the lakeshore.

So it’s been a month now with no webcam
Up until yesterday it was stuck on the 2nd.
Now it’s been removed from the Parks website.
Does any members know what’s happening with the webcam

Probably been knocked over by a concrete truck or a backhoe or something of that nature..........

Getting better as the light improves. Sunrise down here was 7:39 am today and it's pretty foggy up there.

Sadly it has been 2 weeks now since the webcam stopped working on the 20/07/22 at 12:41PM. Why the hell is this happening, why don’t they fix it or at least take the webcam off the website.
Also why is it the same image as matagi’s post on the 12th of July.

The webcam has been off line for the past 24 hours
Edit
Back up and running

Was hoping that the webcam gets moved to the new visitors viewing building,
so it doesn’t ice over for half the winter.
Does anyone know if this is the plan

While they're at it, it would be nice if they upgraded the current potato it to one of those nice panoramic 4K beasts, put a proper UV filter and sunshade over the lens to stop it flaring horribly every clear mid-morning in winter, and ideally provide a timelapse interface a la Inland Fisheries... so when I'm stuck at work every Tuesday morning and it's blue-bell conditions after a nice dumping of snow (it's always a Tuesday morning!) I can feel extra miserable
Seriously, being a decent tripod would almost justify that monstrosity. And the current camera is an embarrassment (and missed opportunity) for what's supposed to be Tasmania's most scenic and iconic view.

Is there no Tasmanian camera house that would be willing to pick-up naming rights sponsorship for pro-setup and maintaining the webcam? Does the current location of the hardware mean it's likely to remain a bit of an embarassment considering the constant down-time?

All the $$$ went on building that ridiculous thing at Dove Lake. You'd think they'd move the camera inside at least.

Still down :-/
For the money
spent wasted there, not only should the camera have been upgraded a high quality 4K unit and run through Panomax or another similar recording/timelapsing service, but also located within a proper hooded, elevated housing with CPL filter so the image remains visible mid-morning and doesn't disappear in snow. The folks at Ben Lomond Ski Sports do a far, far better job (though ironically as I write this, the village camera has fallen off the desk... occasionally happens
).
Let's be honest, the only justification for any building out that way was for a fancier tripod for the camera so we could check up on conditions on a Tuesday while we're stuck at work, wishing we were there instead
I actually visited the Viewing, erm, Building for the first time last week... the last few visits it was still under construction. My god, what an unnecessarily large building. Honestly, the actual viewing room is fine enough, but the entire back half just seems to exist to confuse people to where the toilets are. I'd love to hear the rationale behind why the building couldn't be made a quarter of the size. Would have achieved the exact same thing.
