Need to fix a problem with this snow

Postby Son of a Beach » Sun 23 Oct, 2011 3:09 pm

I can't believe there are no bum slide tracks here at crater peak. I will fix that in just a minute.

The snow is a little slow today. Chest sliding on a raincoat worked better. Fantastic day to be up Cradle!!! So warm.

Under attack from both sides. These three are all from Cairns, so they don't see much snow.

Nice! I like how a good snow drift can turn adults into kids again. Works for me, anyhow.

Yes that was yesterday. Today we're just relaxing in the Scout Hut while it's very wet, windy and cold outside.

I've been reading through some of the history and notes about the 'lodge' and noticed that it had a record year of patronage in 2008 - just after it started getting a lot of publicity on this site. Maybe just coincidence though.

There's a photo or two of Corvus amongst it all too, involved in the working bees.

This really is a brilliant place to stay. They've even got hot water in the kitchen now!

Today's activities are more indoors. Stickers, drawing and stories.

It's so much easier now that they can all walk the whole way themselves. It means that we don't need to carry two loads each all the way, like we did the first time, or walk all the way back out to the car for a second load, like we did the second time.
