TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Kookabay Luxlite Pad

Received today the Kookabay Luxlite pad from the States here. I ordered the 60x20x2.5 Mummy which weighs in at 290g. I was a bit concerned after I placed the order as I hadn't put in my work address and the mail box at home is pretty small. Amazingly it was able to fit in my letterbox it is that tiny. Took about 30 secs to blow up and is comfortable to lay on. Apart from the weight the pack size is amazing - about the size of a soft drink can (like the website shows). I'll use it for the warmer months as the R value is negligible, maybe see how well it can be pushed with a CCF pad as well.

I highly recommend Kookabay's service - postage also was amazing at $5 and the mat itself was $80. I'll be coming back for a lighweight down mat from them next year :D

pretty impressive weight for a proper full airmat, but my converter says its length: 60 inches = 152.4 cm???

How tall are you to find this a suitable length?

I'm 159cm - so there are some advantages to being small  the 72" pad - next size up is an extra 60g so still pretty good.

Kookabay makes very impressive gear, I had a downmat which I had to sell as it was slightly too narrow for me. Will get another one at some point :)
