Looking back towards Melaleuca from the New Harbour track
G'day all - as mentioned earlier I'm working on a series of blog posts on our recent trip from Melaleuca to Ketchem Bay & back. Here's the first part, proving that just getting to the start is sometimes an adventure all its own!
Erk, I heard a quote somewhere that went something like... "Be careful going in search of adventure - it's ridiculously easy to find." I slipped on those boards, landed on my butt in the water, it gave me a bruise that lasted for 2 weeks. The rest of the off track walk left me unscathed! Look forward to the next blog

Yeah - funny that. I once went off track for a week between Clarence Lagoon and the Orion Lakes/Mountains of Jupiter etc. We finally came down onto the Overland Track near the Bowling Green, and I fell heavily. I spoke with Jim this morning, and his ribs are still very sore. It's a wonder we got him as far as Ketchem. (Next episode starting soon ...) edit ... In fact here now http://auntyscuttle.blogspot.com/2012/01/choir-of-waves.html
