TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

This is not so much about gear as about a great customer experience. I had been waiting for the Macpac Torres gaiters for ages but gave up and bought some Cascades from my local Macpac store. Got home, ripped off the packaging, tried on Gaiters – OK but slightly small. Went back Macpac – they will exchange no worries at all even though I had lost the receipt and packaging. And, they are upgrading me to the new Torres which are now finally coming in a week or so - i'll pay the difference. It was friendly and easy awesome customer service.

Doesn't take much does it!!!

I have quite a bit of Macpac gear, only problem I've had is a split seam on a stuffsack that came with my down jacket. It split very early in the jackets life and I thought it was a bit dodge. When queried Macpac not only said no worries, but offered me a choice of replacements and an honest assessment of the choices.....not to mention a friendly and helpful attitude.

You won't pay the difference, I'll sort that. Sorry the new gaiters have taken so long. There was an error in the stock code and only nz stores received them. I owe a bunch of others here the same apology. Will be in touch.

Surely some sort of special deal is in order, for the poor Tasmanians you have been taunting on the forum with rumors of this elusive gaiter?

BY the way, It'll be great to test these gaiters out and my new Event waterproof pants down the S Coast track in April. The Old Gaiters and Pants finally gave up the ghost on the way into Nameless late last year. We've been meaning to do it for years but only now have got the time sorted. Can't wait.
